Has Tony Cascarino lost the plot?

Tony Cascarino is a regular columnist in The Times and has today revealed his predictions for the forthcoming Premier League season.
Looking at what may happen this season is difficult, especially with a possible World Cup hangover for some players, more teams looking likely to challenge for the top four and plenty of teams seemingly ready for a relegation battle.
But Cascarino has had a shocker.
Not only has he backed Ian Holloway’s Blackpool (who have signed no one of significance in the transfer window so far) to survive their first season in England’s top flight, ahead of the impressive Birmingham City, but he also believes that Everton will qualify for the Champions League.
He has dismissed the big spending of Manchester City (who apparently will finish 7th) and also feels City’s neighbours United will finish outside the top two for the first time since 2005, despite finishing just one point behind Chelsea in the last campaign.
For me, these predictions are beyond bold.
They are ridiculous.
To add to this, it is worth mentioning that Cascarino believes Liverpool’s new signing Joe Cole, Tottenham’s top scorer from last season Jermain Defoe, and Aston Villa’s captain Stiliyan Petrov are all doomed for the season ahead.
As a result, if Cascarino’s Mystic Meg predictions turn out to be accurate, we could all be in for the most bizarre Premier League season in memory.
However, I’d happily bet otherwise.

My Premier League Top Six:
1) Manchester United
2) Chelsea
3) Arsenal
4) Manchester City
5) Tottenham Hotspur
6) Everton
